First Music Magazine Drafts

This was my very first draft of my music magazine.
From the feedback I recieved back, I needed to improve many things on my magazine which would relate it more to my choosen genre. Firstly, I need to improve all of the text on my magazine, as it's very bland. My title is quite boring, and makes outling. In my final draft I will use more of a variety of fonts and colours to bring my magazine to life. I also need to change the background on Photoshop or make it duller so my model stands out. I'm also removing the star on my magazine as it's not very effective and looks unprofessional. The barcode needs to be smaller and more realistic so I am going to make a new one for my final draft. The image needs to be manipulated more.

Feedback
- Stronger barcode needed
- M&A? Need a better title to attract the audience into buying your magazine
- Remove sell lines
- Use bold/brash colours
- Change the font - Masthead
- Use a different varity of fonts

Feedback

- Completely needs rethinking and isn't good enough as a first draft - images needed.

Feedback

- Need a caption
- Main headline?
- Need a sell line
- Stronger colours need to be used

Digital Mockups

Front Cover
This is my first digital mock up of my front cover. On this mock up I haven't use images just to decide where I want everything placed on my front over. I want my front cover to have many conventions as possible to make sure the magazine sells and there is enough information on it, for my chosen audience to see what sort of things are included in the magazine.

Planning

At the beginning of my planning, I started to look at other different magazines similar to my genre. I really enjoyed looking at "Q Magazine" which I hadn't really looked at before this course. I loved how the magazine looked very neat and sopisticated yet had a flare to it that made it different from other magazines. I also liked the fonts and layout of the magazine as a whole and took lots of ideas from their work to apply in a different style to my magazine. Although, I did find that "Q Magazine" did have a problem that, the music was really different, as one week it could be jay-z and the next it could be Muse, Coldplay or even Madonna which I find it wouldn't interest me every month. With my magazine I wanted to target a particalur audience and target the magazine just at their type of music instead of include all different sorts of genre which means that they would buy it every month.

Names
Here, I made a slide on Powerpoint for all the different names I could of used. This was really difficult as I felt I had to choose a name that fitted the genre but also what looked good in writing which would catch peoples eye.
